Overview of activities

Archivist — worked with a database of the The Dynamic Archive, made my own indexes and classifications of graphic design patterns

Bureaucracy tamer and other social activities: since bureaucracy is an ongoing theme in my artistic practice, I have been involved in initiatives to help students with their documents. During my Bachelor's degree, I proposed and implemented a project at my art school involving the realisation of social projects as part of the curriculum. During my studies at HfK Bremen, I held two part-time jobs as an international student coordinator and scholarship advisor, until now I am an active member of an HfK chat for international students, where I share, organise and archive useful information.

Researcher and writer: in the research process, I use various methods, such as field trips, interviews and web surfing, as well as obey academic standards. I use various methods in the research process, such as field trips, interviews and web surfing, as well as academic standards. Due to my background (scientist parents, a minor in the history of philosophy and courses in the history of art, design, photography and film), text has become my most comfortable medium and research the starting point of every artistic endeavour. During my internship with Slavs and Tatars, I assisted with multilingual research for their upcoming exhibition about the mythical creature Simurgh.
Examples of research

Project manager and curator: for my latest project Homecoming, I self initiated a big project focusing on the preservation of indigenous material and non-material heritage. During the process, I collaborated with over 50 individuals from diverse backgrounds. In 2018, I completed a curatorial traineeship at the Garage Museum of Contemporary Art in Moscow, and in 2024, worked with Pickle Bar Berlin. Now I joined Joanna Warsza's team as a project assistant in her role as a city curator in Hamburg.

Teacher: I have delivered multiple workshops in different universities (Klasse Digitale Grafik HFBK Hamburg, Visuelle Kommunikation HBK Braunschweig, Integrated design (class of Andrea Rauschenbusch) and Digital Media Bremen,  Estonian Academy of Arts (EKA GD).

I am currently a guest lecturer at HfK Bremen, teaching on the course 'Dispersal Methods: Design Beyond Institutions', and at HBK Braunschweig, where I am helping students conduct field research in the Harz National Park and conceptualise the results for an exhibition there (in the class of Prof. Claudia Doms).

Multimedia Artist/Designer: In my artworks and statements I mostly utilise design tools to communicate the message. I ask how a trained designer can utilise their skillset to create infrastructures that preserve knowledge and also highlight unfair infrastructures that already exist. In my practice, design, art and activism are intertwined, and I approach design not as something figurative but as a tool to amplify the message within the research. My artistic topics include humour, grotesque infrastructure, and real and speculative narratives. In my design practice I mostly work outside institutions, sometimes alone but mostly in collaborations. I design for artists, events and art spaces, and I specialise in print, digital and web design. More about design experience.

Other skills and highlights: During the production of artworks, exhibitions, publications and websites, I became familiar with all the steps involved in the process. Apart from standard design tools (Adobe Package, Figma, 3D softwares), I use command line tools and basic frontend coding in my work processes. I know some printing methods (riso, silkscreen, analogue photography, contact prints) and binding, can work with various materials used in sculpting, as well as some electronics basics.

Collaboration, mediation and knowledge sourcing from other people and communities are important parts of my projects, so throughout these processes I have developed skills necessary for working in teams and coordinating others. I am organised, responsible, responsive, flexible and humourous, outgoing and capable of working on big projects under tight deadlines.

I speak five languages, make great cakes and know basics of aikido.
